Celebrating the 4th.....The Kingston Way!
Wow! Tears in our eyes. What a site to see…the club back so vibrant and alive. One truly amazing day. I want to give a special shout out to our 4th of July committee leads below, but also a heartfelt gratitude to all of our amazing members who came out and made this happen. The sheer number of volunteers was mind blowing, and to see all the new members (and even those still in the process of joining!) was remarkable. Wow! From sun up to literally way past sundown, you guys made Kingston the place to be.

You are all truly awesome.

We made a lot of people very happy and hit some incredible statistics. There are several emails circulating recognizing each team, and you will see more at the General Meeting and in the Bosun’s Pipe, but I wanted to give a brief summary and hats off to the committee leads and to every single one of you who pitched in:
  • Pancake Breakfast (Gloria  & Steve Young and team) - 372 hungry people served
  • Hot Dogs for Kids – (Joseph Charnes and team) – over 300 hot dogs served
  • Toy Boat Build for Kids (Roger Schmuck & Quentin Gilman) - 120 toy boats now in the hands of smiling children
  • And that parade!!! (Greg Colt) What amazing, fun, great job. Give him a little info up front and then get out of the way! He was off and running. Special mention to Karen & Walter Vierek, and John & Shelley Gantz for the floats!
  • And then there was the beer tent! (Bill Orr) - The line just didn’t stop…for sure lots of happy faces there! Special mention to Jerry Andrews for his critical support.
A special shout out to Nancy Langwith for getting us kicked off and organized up front, and, in her words, altogether a shining example of commitment and service to the community and to the club.

By land or by sea…this truly is the club for me!
