Karen Powers lives in Hansville, having just moved from the gulf coast of Florida. Karen raised her children and raised teen-age foster girls for 20 years. Her husband passed in 1993 and she spent several years in Seattle as a granny-nanny for her grandchildren. When one of Karen's children moved to Florida, she decided to follow. During her years in Hoquim, Karen and her husband invested in fixer-uppers and rental properties. While she was in Florida, Karen used her "handi-mom" skills to help her friends and family. Karen is looking forward to being part of the KCYC and working in community service activities.
