November Meeting Highlights

What You Missed at the November General Meeting:

  1. The Board Members prepared and served a delicious early Thanksgiving Dinner of turkey, stuffing, green beans, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, Mexican squash, salads and pumpkin, pecan and apple pie! Yummy!
  2. Daniel Kluth representing Coffee Oasis, was the guest speaker. Coffee Oasis is a non-profit, faith based organization providing programs for homeless youth. The programs are supported by sales of self-roasted coffee and a varied menu. The recently opened program invites the community to stop in for coffee, learn more about the program and opportunities to volunteer.
  3. Welcome to Jacqueline and Marc Winocur and John and Mary Hatcher who were inducted as new members at the November Meeting.
    Open Volunteer Opportunities: Volunteer Coordinator, Charity Coordinator, Bartenders and Bar Back-Up, and Bar Committee Members.
  4. KCYC, Port of Kingston and Kingston Ale House are sponsoring the January Community Dinner at Village Green on January 10, 2020. This is the second year for this event which was spearheaded by Carol Wetmore last year. An Event Coordinator and volunteers are needed for this event. Contact Nancy Langwith if you are interested.
  5. The Food Drive for the Kingston Food Bank provided a car load of food and donations of $750.00. Thank you to all the members for donations!
  6. Fleet Captain, Sandi Dalgleish, provided copies of the 2020 cruise schedule and reminded Boaters to make reservations for this year’s cruises. Non-Boaters can make reservations for lodging at the cruise locations. Suggestions for RV sites and lodging will be part of this year’s cruise plan.
  7. The Polar Bear Cruise to Edmonds is the first cruise of 2020 (January 18th) and is highlighted by a prime rib dinner held at the Edmonds Yacht Club. Jim Simpson and Todd Lachelt are Cruise Captains.
  8. Ken Dalgleish unveiled a new financial report that will provide a monthly update on the Club’s finances.
  9. Jerry Kirschner announced that 100 Bricks had been sold for the Memory Walk. Jerry made a request for donations for the purchase of Bricks for Gold Star Past Commodore. All Brick orders and engraved messages are to be submitted by November 30.
  10. Julie Turner presented the KCYC Website Tip of the Month. This month Julie demonstrated how to register and pay online for the New Year’s Eve event.
  11. Annual Dues for January to December 2020 are due by January 1,2020. Members will pay dues online by using a credit card to pay monthly or annually. The first dues notice will be sent out in December.
  12. The monthly drawing was $108.00 and was won by Chuck Turner! Congratulations to Chuck.
