August General Meeting
Guest Speaker: Ron Rickets—Emergency Communication Procedures
The evening will begin with our customary potluck dinner, followed by a presentation by our guest speaker, Ron Rickets on "Emergency Communication Procedures " .
You may remember Ron when he presented some education on safety considerations for cruising couples and how to be prepared for onboard emergencies or if your mate is disabled.
Well, he is back. This time with a discussion on the basics of communicating when an emergency situation arises, both on your boat, or how to help others that may be in distress. Covid has been a boom for the boating industry and as a result there are many more ‘new boaters’ out on the water. Many are unaware of what to do when things go wrong.
This will be an interactive discussion so be thinking about what situations you have encountered, what you did and/or what you could have done better.
Note: Ron is a member of the Annapolis Yacht Club and also active in the Annapolis Sail and Power Squadron where he has served as both Commodore and Safety Officer.
