Foulweather Bluff Regatta

We need a host!

October 3rd and 4th

Ahoy KCYC Crew,

We’ve got friendly vessels on the horizon!  The Edmonds Corinthian Yacht Club is sailing into our harbor for their annual Fouweather Bluff Regatta, and while their sails are full of excitement, our dock is still missing one crucial thing… a host (or two!) to welcome them ashore.

This is a golden opportunity to show off our KCYC hospitality, charm, and legendary good times. But without someone to take the helm of this event, we risk leaving our guests adrift—and that’s just NOT the KCYC way!

So here’s our SOS: We need a member (or a dynamic duo!) to step up and coordinate the welcome. Think of it as being the cruise director for a night—setting the tone, organizing a few details, and making sure our guests know like they’ve landed in the friendliest little club on the Sound.

We need someone to take charge of the burger dinner on Friday night, and the same person, or someone new, to open the clubhouse early on Saturday morning with some fresh coffee (sourced from Starbucks) and send the sailors on their way, and possibly a different person - then later on Saturday return the club to its "default settings" after the sailors depart following their award ceremonies (around 8 pm)

We’ll provide support, crew, and plenty of wind in your sails. You just bring your spirit and a willingness to steer the ship.

If you’ve ever thought, “I could host something fun,” now’s your moment to shine. Let’s keep our club’s reputation shipshape and show our visitors what KCYC camaraderie is all about.

Please reply to this email or flag me down at the club or text or call me 818-434-8091 if you're willing to chart the course. The tide waits for no one—and neither does the regatta!

With gratitude and a splash of rum,

Simona Dedek

KCYC Social Director

(FYI I will be out of the country that weekend, otherwise I'd be all over this myself, it's one of the funnest weekends, and makes one feel like at least a half mariner for sure!  I may not sail, but I do drift, socially)
